Jill Gay, MA, is a founding Member and the Chief Technical Officer. She is the lead author for www.whatworksforwomen.organd has far-reaching knowledge of the literature on effective gender approaches to HIV. She has spent a significant amount of time working with developing country partners to identify country-specific gender transformative programming. She has worked as a consultant for UNDP in Kenya and under WWA/UNAIDS in Gabon, Tajikistan, Lao PDR and Myanmar, among other countries. She has co-authored a number of peer-reviewed journal articles on HIV, reproductive health and gender. She evaluated USAID’s activities on gender and reproductive health in Benin. She also assessed, for the Board of the MacArthur Foundation, the Foundation’s programs on maternal health in Mexico. She has collaborated with ICRW and CARE to evaluate gender and sexuality work in Vietnam and India. Ms. Gay has also implemented a quality of care project in several countries in Latin America with Ministries of Health and women’s advocates through PAHO. She has worked for the US Institute of Medicine. She served on the IRB of NIAID.
