Sandra Jordan, MA, has worked in U.S. and international public health, communication, advocacy, and project management for more than 25 years. Throughout her career, she has used a range of communications activities to raise awareness on a range of development issues including rights based family planning, social and behavior change, transforming harmful traditional practices, gender equity, and population, health, and environment, among others. She liaises with key country and issue stakeholders, development organizations, donors, and in-country partners to uncover solutions to key development and public health issues. She has worked in USAID’s Global Health Bureau’s Office of Population and Reproductive Health where she led the Office communications strategy and the Female Genital Cutting/Mutilation initiative to end this practice, including creating the US Government’s official policy opposing this practice. She also served as the Country Coordinator for Guinea and Sierra Leone. She also has worked at Family Planning 2020 as the Senior Director for Rights, Youth, and Global Advocacy. Before working internationally, she worked for NARAL and the Planned Parenthood Federation of America.
