Tools for Human Rights-Based Family Planning

WWA collaborated with UNFPA and FP2030 to develop a comprehensive framework that outlines the components of rights-based family planning. This framework serves as the centerpiece for an associated ​programme assessment tool developed by UNFPA and WWA. Palladium and WWA have also developed and launched a new, five-module curriculum designed to demonstrate how to apply a human rights-based approach to voluntary family planning services. ​Visit our Human Rights-Based Programming page for more information.

Faith-based Advocacy for Family Planning Works!

Although it is often assumed that religion has a negative influence on family planning (FP), virtually all faith traditions support the concept of healthy timing and spacing of pregnancy. Dr. Karen Hardee contributed to this newly published article in Global Health: Science and Practice looking at evidence from Kenya and Zambia. This new evidence shows that faith leaders can be effective supporters and partners in local family planning efforts. 

A Long Way To Go: Engaging Men and Boys in Family Planning Commitments

A new publication authored by Dr. Karen Hardee, Christopher Hook, Tim Shand, Sandra Jordan and Margaret Greene analyzed country commitments and implementation plans to determine the extent to which male engagement was incorporated into family planning goals, with a particular focus on FP policy, program and financial commitments.  Read more about their findings here.
